Our Coaches
All of our programs are taught by Certified Skate Canada Coaches who work with athletes and their parents to set realistic goals for athlete development and set forth the training required for each athlete to reach his or her potential.
Skate Canada trains and certifies coaches through the Coaching Association of Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). All coaches must maintain the following requirements to be in good standing:
-
Skate Canada Coaching Membership
-
Skate Canada NCCP Status
-
Valid First Aid Certification
-
Background screening
-
Completion of Respect in Sport Training Activity Leader Training
-
Completion of the Skate Canada Code of Ethics

PLEASE NOTE:
Coaching is billed separately and is usually billed per skater/15 minute lesson. Coaches may charge additional fees. These fees may include but are not limited to: Test day coaching, music selection and music cutting, choreography, competition coaching and competition expenses (including lost lesson fees, hotel, travel and food) and dance partnering. Semi-private lessons are subject to group rates and are set by the coach.
Please discuss these extra expenses when choosing a coach.
